I have gone nuts over this...it's like the most exciting PC type thing I've come across in a long time.

I'm using MyMovies, Windows Media Center, PowerDVD11 Ultra and Windows 7 homegroup to make this work.

My old PC with the Q9550 Quad Core Processor is doing server duties. Currently it has 17 TB of movie/TV series storage with another 3 TB to come online this weekend and another 3 TB coming. At that point, the old box I had will be filled to capacity. [I did notice that HD prices started climbing the other day, so I bought that other 3TB as I found only one place with a half-way decent price.] Not sure how to expand beyond there...not even sure I want to. 23TB seems like a lot of storage to me, but I'm sure some of you folks have way more than that.

Right now, I have some 356 titles loaded up. Most of them are blu-rays in ISO format. Some are regular DVDs...I have a few MKVs but I prefer just to rip straight BD to ISO as it is less effort overall. MyMovies is a very slick and powerful backend for Windows Media Center. It doesn't "look" as good as XMBC but I think it is easier to use and more powerful (or just as powerful). Just about all of my Blu-ray collection resides online but most of my DVD collection does not. I have a hard time watching DVDs anymore.

I need a means to catalog what is stored where. If a disc crashes, my play is just to rebuild that disc from optical media.

It was totally worth the effect to run that Cat6 cable this summer. Trying to stream blu-ray any way other than over gigabit is hopeless.

Funny thing is I don't watch movies has much as you'd think based on having this setup. I just like having the option has having it dirt simple to get to my stuff.
