It doesn't take much GPU to run at 2560x1600 2D. I use a ATI 5700 series and it powers my 30 inch AND two 24 inch at native resolutions.

Anthony,
Are you sure your current Vid Card can/will drive the new bigger resolution of the U3011?
Big sucker! I am only shopping 24's ATM (to replace a 21in EIZO CRT).
I've been bit by this in the past............. :)
I suspect you run newer cards than I do; but still, something to consider.
YMMV.

Perhaps. I have two monitors now...old. One is 1600 x 1200 and the other is 1280 x 1024. The dell would be 2560x1600, more pixels across and vertical And they have very different color, too, which is weird when dragging things across them. I could keep one of them with the Dell.

Might get more utility out of two 24" units...I can barely use single

That said, U3011 is a nice display.

Subject: [H] IPS Display - which one?

I have a chance to get a pricy monitor at work. I'm thinking of a Dell
U3011. Is this a good option or should I look at something else?
