I just decided (and the wife agreed - lol) to get the WD Live unit

Note that this one is the newer one that has 7000 in the model number.  It
has no HD, but you can connect a USB 2 drive to it.  Although I will be
streaming over wired gigabit from my pc.

I recently bought a Linksys E42000 router and just noticed today that it has
a media server on it.  I have to research a little more, but it appears that
I can only stream media from a drive attached to the router.  But either
way, I cannot get it to my TV as it is not networkable.  So I will still be
getting the WD Live.

nothing, but it is the size of a pack of cigarettes, sits un-noticed by your
TV and plays media from your network, as well as a two USB2 ports and a
variety of predetermined media internet sites.
