If you are talking about the WD then yes it supports 1080p... I have played Blu ray ISO rips directly off the USB hard drive.

When I said it has not HD, I was referring to hard drive. It is supposed to
support 1080.

Thanks for all of your inputs to my original question.

I just decided (and the wife agreed - lol) to get the WD Live unit

ef=dp_ob_title_ce

Note that this one is the newer one that has 7000 in the model number. It
has no HD, but you can connect a USB 2 drive to it. Although I will be
streaming over wired gigabit from my pc.

I recently bought a Linksys E42000 router and just noticed today that it has
a media server on it. I have to research a little more, but it appears that
I can only stream media from a drive attached to the router. But either
way, I cannot get it to my TV as it is not networkable. So I will still be
getting the WD Live.

nothing, but it is the size of a pack of cigarettes, sits un-noticed by your
TV and plays media from your network, as well as a two USB2 ports and a
variety of predetermined media internet sites.
