Mike,
Thank you. Glad to know someone here has the same visual.
ATM, I see little reason to reinstall Turbo-Tax 2010 again. I have
way past archived all material that will be required next year to
prepare my 2011 returns. TTax2011 will not get installed here until
FEB or MAR 2012.
Mucking around in the registry is scary to me.
I know where the "files" live ATM. Just wondering how much grief I may
buy myself if I just go delete the 'folder' in the %sys%\PF\common
files\ area?
Can accept that these files come back the next time I load TTax2011......?
Thanks,
Duncan

I too have AnswerWorks installed.
I have never explicitly installed it so possibly it was installed by
Intuit.
Unlike you, when I go to Control Panel|Add or Remove Programs, I do
see AnswerWorks as a choice.
You might try reinstalling TurboTax so that AnswerWorks gets properly
reinstalled.
You should then be able to see it in Control Panel|Add or Remove
Programs.
Other than that you can start mucking around in the registry, manually
deleting entries and also deleting the associated files.
If it were me I try and reinstall and then go through Add or Remove
Programs.
Good luck.

Mike

So, Secunia pops ups up and shows me a progy I was not aware of.
It is (Vantage Linguistics) AnswerWorks 5.0.
Google tells me lots of folks stuff this add-on. Yes, I use Intuit
Turbo-Tax.
Yes, I use Quicken Will-Maker 2010. Seems both of these seem to
stuff this program. OK.
I know where the AnswerWorks 5.0 'stuff' lives:
c:\Program Files\Common Files\AnswerWorks5.0
CCleaner does not list it. Win/Add/Remove programs does not list it.
Question: Google tells me I can dig and find out which program is
tied to this current install. Very confusing to me. No how-to's shared.
Not surprising, I find that Vantage offers little un-install info other
than to figure out which 'big' program installed this Vantage helper;
and, then just delete the 'big' program. OK................. :(
Interesting to note that all the 'AnswerWork5.0' files are dated in
the range of 5/24/04 - 6/13/08. The file, awreadme.htm, is of next
to zero help!
I suppose I might be able to just click the above link: then, DELETE.
Opinions/suggestions welcome.
