Unless the router had a way to install a new CA certificate into your
system's trusted CA root store(s), you would know if it was attempting a
MITM attack on SSL websites.

Not that it invalidates the concern at all. I personally eschew all SOHO
routers and run pfSense.

Are you guy's not worried about the security aspects of running custom roms
on your routers?

What better way to capture all your financial information than running a man
in the middle attack from your router. How would you know if that was
occurring?
