TNX for the def. I'll back out and follow this thread some more. I do
know that my router's WAN port is 1000Mbps, and, that all 4 of its'
switch ports are likewise.. Fine. I accept that my router's throughput in
my wired only use may be limited then by my FIOS connection to 50Mbps
synchronous.
I do know that my remaining intra-LAN business does run at '1Gbps' tops
client-to-client via my GBit
switches. My slow-poke is my printer. It remains 100Mbps. I think I
got it, but will follow this thread some more before I jump on the 'NEW
Router' want list just yet. Should the RT-66U offer benefits to me in
a wired-only use, count me in!

So based on the numbers I seriously doubt it is wifi operation. I'm
streaming blu-ray in here and I want all I can get all the time
through my router. I frequently move big files over my network.

Like you, I sort of got disappointed when I see the current ASUS
rated 1268.6 and
my own DLink rated 255.8.
But then, I only do wired network ops. And, my router's rated value
is still 5x faster/greater
than the 50Mbps speed for my FIOS connection. So, I guess my router
is mostly loafing along
ATM. Somehow I think I am missing something..... :)
