LOL! Seriously? Facebooks business model is based getting my information and selling it to the highest bidder. An email provider's business model is based on selling email service. (Not in the case of Gmail, and Hotmail, of course, but once again, these are free services, which makes the user the product, not the client.) Sure, all my email *could* be read by a lot of people, whereas all my data *would* be read, indexed and sold by Facebook, guaranteed. The two are nowhere near comparable from a privacy and security standpoint. On top of that, if I'm really concerned, I can encrypt my email.
