[H] System Reserve partition ?

I know on install windows creates a 100mb system reserved partition 
that is active and hold the boot data I assume. I did a clean install 
on my son's box yesterday and when I was almost done for some reason 
on reboot that partition vanished and it would not boot. ( figured 
out later it was gone )
between diskpart bcdedit and bootrec was able to  get it to go ( made 
the other partition active and rebuilt the BCD ) Have no idea ( or I 
forgot ) what that partition is for and have no idea why it went 
away. Very weird. System seems fine, has no hidden system reserved partition.

Anyone ever seen this  happen ?
