The other day someone had mentioned they had Win7 with an SSD and they leave their system on 24/7. I was wondering do you allow the system to sleep in a low power state?

That was me. Since Vista the hard drives power down automatically after a set period of inactivity, and you can't over ride this. That is why when you try to access a disk in Vista or Win7 a lot of times it is asleep, and it has to wake up before you can actually use it.

Not Standby or Hibernate just sleep? If so, how do you do it? I had heard SSD's and Win7 don't get along good with sleeping. I would like to let my system run also but have concerns... Regards, joeuser - Still looking for the 'any' key... "...now these points of data make a beautiful line..."
