Shutting ourselves into a box of "everyone who does not agree completely with how I feel is an enemy" == An "enemy" is what I call people who have created the most enormous body of literature of demonization of Jews since Germany in the 1930's. It is completely comparable. American Jewish Committee has an excellent pamphlet by esteemed historian Robert Wistrich entitled "Muslim Antisemitism." All should read it. The leading Muslim intellectual of the late 20th century, Sayyid Qutb, wrote a piece called "Our struggle with the Jews." There is an English translation by Ronald Nettler. This piece reads like Ford's The International Jew, or worse. Jews are described as the "eternal enemy" of Allah and of Muslims, the cause of every disaster from the poisoning of the Prophet to the fall of the Ottomon Empire and beyond. This work and others like it have huge audiences in Arabic. Americans and American Jews are (again, as in the 1930's) refusing to face reality. Pretending that "they are just like us Americans" -- does not serve us well.
