Education Liaison Librarian, Arizona State University West. A librarian to plan, deliver, and assess library programs and services in support of the College of Education; provide research assistance to faculty and students; develop web pages and provide library instruction; participate in campus community partnerships under development; participate in collection development; provide reference service; and engage in collaborative program planning and leadership. ASU West librarians work independently and collaboratively on projects that meet organizational objectives while reflecting individual expertise and interest. Librarians actively provide leadership in shaping our future through collaborative planning, implementation, and assessment of library programs and services. ASU West librarians work closely with faculty to provide course-integrated instruction and are active on campus committees that affect students' educational experience, institutional planning, and governance. They also serve as members of learning community instructional teams. Scholarship and participation in service activities are expected and supported. ASU West Library combines a small campus intimacy with a leading edge approach to the Information Age. The Library makes extensive use of electronic systems and resources and spends more than $1M annually for collections and access. Our collection of books, periodicals, and media supports the West Campus curriculum, while access to the combined collections of all ASU libraries provides a depth and breadth of resources normally found only at much larger campuses. Library Administration supports the professional activity, service, and development of our librarians through funded professional development and travel, individual computing, and paid sabbatical leaves. Visit the Library's website for additional information: http://www.west.asu.edu/library/ Required qualifications: * ALA-accredited Master's Degree. * Post-secondary degree, certification or relevant work experience in education or the social sciences. * Evidence of the design and/or delivery of instruction; experience with print and electronic reference sources; design and development of web-based materials for instruction. * Evidence of leadership roles or experience. * Excellent communication skills. * Assistant/Associate rank dependent upon quality and level of professional preparation and experience Desired Qualifications: * Relevant pre-professional or professional library experience. * Demonstrated experience with: education-related databases and information retrieval systems; selection of electronic and/or print resources; project/program development, management, or assessment; a wide range of software applications, including instruction and presentation applications. * Evidence of coursework in Education. * Demonstrated knowledge of selection and evaluation resources for children and young adult literatures. * Demonstrated knowledge of statistical or assessment methodologies or software. * Experience or training in group facilitation. * Bilingual English/Spanish. Salary: $38,000 minimum. This position is eligible for continuing appointment with requirements for professional contributions and service.
