David Cohen is an exceptional individual and is very deserving of this honor. It is about time that he be honored and I congratulate Ellen Zyroff for spearheading this effort in honoring him. David Cohen stands as a role model to myself and other librarians in the ALA, EMIERT, and the Jewish Information Committee. He is a credit to the profession and to Jewish librarians throughout the world for his advocacy of multiculturalism. He, Vladimir Wertsman, and Patricia Beilke have been mentors and friends to me in my own career. David Cohen is a credit to his profession and his religion. He exemplies his beliefs through his action for social justice and the brotherhood of man. I salute all that made this happen.
