Don't give away the Jewish Encyclopedia -- it's a wonderful resource! It is now available online - www.Jewishencyclopedia.com , but, when you have time, take a look at the hard copy version. A lot of EJ was based on it; it's physically, quite lovely; and, as you'll see, it's a wonderful resource. I don't know much about Universal Encycl -- I believe it came in between JE and EJ. That may be the one to discard (give away) -- but, I'm sure other safranim will chime in on this question.
