A sprinkler pipe which runs through the library sprang a leak today.
Fortunately the sprinkler did not go off, but there were several inches of
water on
the floor and the water sprayed quite violently across the room. The entire
desk
area was flooded (loaded with newly processed books). Other books stored in
boxes on the floor were wet.

We do not know how long the water had been spewing out of the hole in the
pipe before it was discovered during Shabbat morning services. We have the
books
spread out on tables with the pages fanned, hoping to salvage some of them.
We toweled off the outsides. The air conditioning is running to try to removed
some of the moisture.

What else can we do to a. save some of the less damaged books and b. to
prevent mildew and odor ? I know that we do not have the time or resources
to save
a lot of the books that are wet but some of the items are out of print or
quite expensive.

TIA. I know I can count on your help.
