Elana,

Back in the early 80's, I worked with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts &
Sciences as consultant when they prepared a traveling photo exhibit on Jews
in Film. We drew on the enormous number of cataloged photographs in their
collection (a collection which must be considerably larger by now) and at
that time there were about 60 images in the exhibit.

The first 30 of these were previewed on board the Queen Mary in Long Beach
CA during the 1983 AJL Convention hosted by AJLSC. The entire exhibit was
first presented the next fall at Sinai Temple Library in Los Angeles.

I don't know if that rather impressive poster exhibit is still in the
Academy's holdings. I do think their reference library, now located on La
Cienega Blvd. in Los Angeles, might be a good resource for you. Their
cataloged photos numbered over six million at the time of the 1992 LA
convention. Can't believe they don't have a box or several marked "Jews in
Film." I don't have my contact list with me here in Seattle but always
found the library director very helpful. Good luck.

P.S. I so appreciated your support of our playground project. Please

it's come.
