Dear Hasafran friends and colleagues, I can't quite believe this, but my book Bobbie Rosenfeld: The Olympian Who Could Do Everything (Second Story Press, 2004) just received another award! This one is the IODE Violet DowneyAward for the best English book for children published in Canada in 2004. I think it's wonderful because IODE stands for "Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire", and this time they've given the award to a Jewish writer about a Jewish woman athlete. Neat, huh? Here's more info, in case you have nothing else to do: http://www.bookcentre.ca/awards/award_ind/awards.php?award=violet
