I think this brings up a really good point. Less populated places will cost less in hotels and other services, might bring wonderful scenery and resourt like feeling.... However they might also present quite a problem of getting there. Airfaires are usually quite a bit more expansive with no real deals and limited schedules to smaller airports and there will be a transportation problem on the ground (how do you get to the hotel?). Or one will have to go to a major nearby airport and then rent a car and drive a few more hours to the location.
