A few people asked me to repost my MARC record with an updated 600 field (Subject Added Entry-Personal Name) once my newborn son had been named. However, before I present the updated record, I would like to share a remarkable story:
Ever since the passing of wife's grandfather, Rabbi Jeshaiah Schnitzer, my wife had hoped that when it came time for her to become a mother her first child he would be a boy so that he could named for her beloved grandfather. This past Friday, she discovered that her hopes had been fulfilled as she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. As she and I spent a restful Shabbat in the hospital marveling at our little Shai Bernstein's entrance into this world, we had no way of knowing that halfway around the globe in Southern Lebanon an IDF Captain had just been taken from this world in a vicious Hezbollah terrorist attack. The name of this IDF Captain was Shai Bernstein. When we learned of this fateful occurrence we were so overcome with emotion that tears started to flow. We were able to have a friend in Israel contact the family of the fallen soldier and express our deepest sympathy.
