New Book,Solomon the Accountant by Edward M. Krauss, is a
Heartwarming Tale of 1950s Jewish Americana

Accountant Solomon Wohlman surprises everyone, mostly himself, when
he unexpectedly falls in love with a recent widow named Molly during
the funeral of her husband of only one year. It only takes Solomon
one calculated glance to know this is a problem of bad timing and
love. Molly is barely getting over the reality of her marriage ending
in tragedy and he is falling madly in love for the first time in his life.

A practical man by nature, Solomon evaluates and computes a plan for
winning over his dream girl. She is perfect and even Jewish but when
can he ask her out on a proper date? After a respectable synagogue
date Solomon does the math on when the next date could be and how
long he can wait to propose. Molly, on the other hand, would like to
take it slow. And, her family has already set up the next date,
before she can even get a latkah in her mouth.

This heartwarming tale of Solomon the Accountant reveals 1950s
Americana with a Jewish perspective. Solomon and his friends give
the reader a personal look at the first generation of Post World War
II Jewish baby boomers. In an age of soda fountains, DeSotos and
synagogue dances, the new American Jew was inexorably melding into
his surroundings.
