Aside from the comments and citations given, there were also the
statements of American negotiator Dennis Ross. Ross takes Carter to
task on a number of issues. For example, Carter apparently wrote that
Ehud Barak rejected Clinton's peace plan. Ross said that not only
did Barak accept the Clinton plan, but the Israeli cabinet actually
voted and approved it. This is a matter of record. As Ross said in
a TV interview, Carter is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his
own facts, and he got the facts wrong, and should retract them.
It would certainly be nice if President Clinton would also speak
up (or has he?) to correct Carter's errors.
