A Night to Remember : The Haggadah of Contemporary Voices , published January, 2007, Jerusalem, Israel, by Mishael Zion and Noam Zion, both on faculty of the Shalom Hartman Institute. (pb, full color, 156 pages) Description: This is a completely new sequel to my A Different Night: The Family Participation Haggadah (1997) and an extensive adaptation of my son's bestselling Israeli haggadah Halaila Hazeh (2004) for an American Jewish audience. This haggadah is a very beautiful book with clever, thought provoking and sometimes humorous illustrations by the top Israeli political caricaturist Michel Kichka (great name!). Its content is very contemporary and literary with Israeli sources (Yehuda Amichai, Amos Oz, David Grossman, Golda, Ben Gurion, Ezer Weizman, Ethiopian aliyah, Aviva Zornberg, Naamah Kelman and Rav Kook etc) as well as very American ones (Cynthia Ozick, Toni Morrison, Leonard Cohen, Marge Piercy, Arnie Eisen, Philip Roth, Joseph Telushkin and many selections from Rav Soloveitchik) The English haggadah is $18.95 for one (no library discount for one), $13.95 each for two or more The Hebrew Israeli one is $25 (hardback).
