The subject heading follows the Name Authority records. Under normal
rules, it would only be qualified if there are two places of the same
name within Israel, but for some reason CPSO made an exception
(deliberately, see the authority record). Deciding it is an extinct
jurisdiction is probably legitimate since no currently existing
jurisdiction has similar boundaries or any sort of claim to be a legal
continuation (though usually CPSO is fanatical in squeezing extinct
jurisdictions into modern ones, e.g. the Republic of Venice passed off
as an earlier names of the currently Italian city).
