Bernard accuses me of misusing Hasafran.

I agree with Bernard that this Listserv is not the place to promote Israel
bashing and delegitimizing, but I do see it as a place to bring to the
attention of members of the Listserv free downloads of pamphlets and reports
pertaining to Jewish, Israeli, and Zionist issues from reputable sources. I
do not see this as propaganda and they are not news items. Judaica
librarians have a right to know of their existence and can decide on their
own whether they want to download them, read them or include them in their
collection.

In addition, I would like to thank Bernard for mentioning my special e-mail
distribution "for his Israel commentary and information". This is a weekly
distribution. Anyone interested in being on my mailing list please let me
know by return e-mail.

Perhaps AJL should become political in defending Israel to counter ALA's and
IFLA's very open anti-Israel position.

Below is a sample of publications I have brought to the attention of
Hasafran readers - can anyone explain to me why this is "misuse":

Z Word, New Website on Anti-Zionism (Sponsored by the American
Jewish Committee)

U.S.State Department Report on Anti-Semitism (which was welcomed by
the American Jewish Committee)

Holocaust Trivialization by Manfred Gerstenfeld (Jerusalem
Center for Public Affairs)

Human Rights of Christians in Palestinian Society (Jerusalem Center
for Public Affairs)

The UN and Anti-Semitism, 2004-2007 Report Card, (UN Watch)

Beyond al-Qaeda: Part 1, The Global Jihadist Movement (RAND Corp)

Human Rights and Politicized Human Rights: A Utilitarian Critique
Journal of Human Rights 6(1):3-35 Ja-Ma 2007 Don A. Habibi

Perhaps Bernard Katz sees this as propaganda solely because he doesn't agree
with what is written. This position is very profound on many campuses where
the Left does not allow anyone pro-Israel speak.

All the best,

David
