Prof. Devora Bregman has just published her long-awaited critical edition of the complete Hebrew poems by the eminent poet-kabbalist Mose Zacuto (Amsterdam-Germany-Italy, 1610-1697). Zacuto's poems are of an astonishing variety composed in many verse forms and a range of meters and rhymes. Some of his poems are para-liturgical and non-liturgical poems were composed for various occasions in the life-cycle, joyous and sad, for weddings, circumcision, in praise of books and elegies. Many of the poems were never published previously and many others were published only on broadsheets that are now exceedingly rare.
