I have acquired the CD twice but I admit I have used them very little. I
find that the reason for this is that the CD is not timely. MY library is
small with a small budget. I am interested in the reviews for collection
development. By the time it comes out I have money to spend only on the
winners or honor books that I have missed. Maybe some of the notable books
too. But because they are already endorsed by the committee, I don't really
need the reviews themselves. BUT, it is disturbing if I have totally missed
many of these recommended titles which came out during the previous year.
This year that happened, one of the winning titles was already not available
at Amazon and I had to purchase it from a used book store. I would have
liked to see the reviews closer to the publication dates, or at least the
list of titles, so I could have considered them when they were new.

It is very hard to identify children's books of Jewish interest. I think it
would be helpful if at least the titles received from the publishers each
month (though reviews as they are written, both positive and negative, would
be nice to have), could be posted on the AJL or Sydney Taylor website as
they are received so we could know to be looking for them and trying to
evaluate them ourselves in a more timely fashion.
