Ben Sasson, Harvard University Press, 1979 paperback page 404: .......They preserved a conception that seems to have originated with Mohammed whereby the Peoples of the Book i.e. Jews and Christians, were entitled to different treatment from that meted out to idolaters, who had no holy scriptures....sharing similar conception of the Divinity. ay
