Hi safranim and fellow Yiddishistn

Could one of you identify for me the newspaper that this column was
clipped from by a Cape Town housewife?

"Gutn apetit: di kikh in a moderner Idish Amerikanisher heym"

Also I have a wonderful satirical column in a South African Yiddish
newspaper in 1912, referring to the increasing Russification of the
wives and daughters left behind in Lithuania who were taking on Russian
names and Russian ways. I wanted to corroborate this with an American
source. Has anyone mentioned this in a social history of the Jews in
eastern Europe? I am looking for an English monograph or article.

This is for an article I am working on at present.

Wishing everybody a happy and healthy year ahead, Shanah tovah

Veronica
