Hi safranim and fellow Yiddishistn I left the dates out of my original query.
Could one of you identify for me the newspaper that this column was clipped from by a Cape Town housewife in the years 1931-1932. "Gutn apetit: di kikh in a moderner Idish Amerikanisher heym" Also I have a wonderful satirical column in a South African Yiddish newspaper in 1912, referring to the increasing Russification of the wives and daughters left behind in Lithuania who were taking on Russian names and Russian ways. I wanted to corroborate this with an American source. Has anyone mentioned this in a social history of the Jews in eastern Europe? I am looking for an English monograph or article. This is for an article I am working on at present. Wishing everybody a happy and healthy year ahead, Shanah tovah Veronica ### UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN This e-mail is subject to the UCT ICT policies and e-mail disclaimer published on our website athttp://www.uct.ac.za/about/policies/emaildisclaimer/ or obtainable from +27 21 650 9111.
