The Aleichem is not functioning as a surname. That's why the LCNA heading is
established as Sholem Aleichem,|d 1859-1916. There is a cross-reference from
Aleichem, Shalom that points to the established form.
The author took the phrase as a pseudonym, not another name. It has to be
treated as a phrase.

"Aleichem" qualify as the leading word per AACR2? That is, "Aleichem,
Shalom," or "Aleichem, Sholom" depending on the Romanization, with
references from "Shalom Aleichem," "Sholom Aleichem" and his real name.

If you're going to use the pseudonym, it really needs to be under "Sholom". To
put it under Aleichem would be like referencing "Doody, Howdy". Sholom-aleichem
(or Sholem-aleykhem) is a fixed phrase, not a first and last name.
