Dear Stephanie,



As the Past-President of the Special Libraries Association, I am writing to 
invite you to join me as part of a delegation to visit Israel to study its 
special libraries and information systems. Our delegation will meet with 
information professionals and special librarians in Israel and explore the rich 
religious and cultural environment of Israel.



Through round table discussions, site visits and one-on-one dialog, we will 
explore a broad range of aspects of international librarianship including:


  *   Digital media and international practices
  *   Academic training for library and information professionals
  *   Parliamentary services and practices
  *   Museum information services
  *   Medical library practices


This delegation will convene in Tel Aviv, Israel on November 4, 2012 (you will 
depart the US on November 3), and will return on November 11, 2012. There will 
be an optional extension to Jordan, returning on November 14, for those 
interested in visiting Wadi Rum and Petra following the professional

The estimated cost per delegation member is $4795 U.S.D. This cost includes 
group transportation within Israel, meetings, accommodations in 
double-occupancy rooms, entry fees for cultural visits, the service of a 
national guide, and most meals. A limited number of single rooms are available 
for an additional $875.



For U.S. citizens, expenses associated with this program may be tax deductible 
as an ordinary and necessary business expense. You should consult with a tax 
advisor to determine if the tax deduction is applicable to you.



Due to the extensive planning and communication involved in coordinating a 
program of this nature, please respond with your intentions regarding this
