...cookbooks that they've posted or published online. Our Sisterhood is gearing up to do... some kind of electronic, "living" cookbook

Living cookbooks, dead cookbooks, it's all on the internet; it's all been done. However, as with everything, the question is about how to build a cuter mousetrap.

Do you remember the movie "The Calendar Girls" which was loosely based on the story behind the nude calendar done by the Rylstone&District Women's Institute (near Leeds, England) to raise money for blood-related cancer research? You've probably considered this, but let me second the idea of setting up a Blogspot and video-ing all the recipes right there in the synagogue kosher kitchen. The blogspot would be independant from..., but could be directly linked to..., the synagogue webpage.

There is a wonderful blogspot <http://foodwishes.blogspot.com.es/> that features only the cooking videos of the charmingly funny Chef John. Whenever I feel a little under-whelmed, I pop on into his blogspot and watch his hands blanche tomatos or some such nonsense. Perks me right up.

He talks on Off but you can see his hands working so that if the camera were any closer to what was going on, it would become an ingredient.

The beauty of a blogspot is that it can be edited and up-dated constantly. Little anecdotes about the recipes can be added on or modified at will. And most importantly, the younger members of sisterhood (in the frilly apron) can do recipes like:
How to stuff peanut butter into an apple or
How to open a jar of Mrs Adler's guefilte fisch.

Now, you wouldn't have to video all of the girls in the Sisterhood cooking up a batch of cottage cheese blintzes in nothing but a frilly french apron (some of the younger members might consider the possibility). On the contrary, the more mature ladies could be dressed to the nines wearing pearls and high heels like Julia Childs which would contrast nicely.

Also slightly off topic: We don't have Hadassah or Sisterhood here in europe like you all have in the u.s.a. In spain we don't have anything at all! But in England they have the WI (Women's Institute) which is too cool for words

...it's like Big Girl Guides

Hope you've all had a fun summer. I would really like to nuke this one into dust; it is so flipping hot!
Alba
