Weine Classification and Elazar are definitely not wastes of time.  These 
classification schemes were specifically designed for Jewish libraries because 
LC and Dewey do not adequately cover subjects that can be unique to Jewish 
libraries.  That is why the Library of Congress actually recognizes these 
schemes as legitimate and not "a waste of time".

It is always better to be exact.
It is easier to user LC Subject Headings than to try and figure out your own.  
You may choose to not use some sub-divisions.
Weine Classification is a waste of time.  You will spend too much time trying 
to figure out the call numbers.  Use a standard system such as LCC.  You will 
have experts to help you.
