I have always found this book to be an excellent resource for this type of
question:

The Jewish Story Finder: A Guide to 668 Tales; Listing Subjects and Sources
(second editon)
By Sharon Barcan ElswitMcFarland & Co, publishers, 2012

In the index, there is a list of many stories with the theme of gratitude (in
folklore and elsewhere) and where these sources can be found.

Subject: [ha-Safran] Looking for a tale

Dear Safranim ve-Safraniyot,

I am looking for Yiddish tale, perhaps a ma'aseh, concerning the topic of
gratitude. Specifically, being grateful for the help one received from another
in be able to accomplish a task. Does anyone know of such a tale? I am
familiar of the Gemara in Berakhot 58a that has a blessing thanking God for
"creating all these individuals to serve me."

Kol tuv,
Haim
