I am very pleased to announce the launch of a book I edited with Murray Baumgarten, Distinguished Professor of English & Comparative Literature and co-Director of Jewish Studies at UC Santa Cruz.

        The Jewish Street
The City and Modern Jewish Writing
        An Anthology

Using the iconic "Jewish street" ("di Yidishe gas") as a metaphor, our collection features more than forty stories highlighting the complex relationship Jews have forged with city life. The anthology addresses the diversity and creativity of Jewish urban experience over nearly five centuries from India to Odessa, South Africa to Los Angeles, and points between. We tried to mix well-known authors and works with some hidden gems by lesser-known writers, some never before collected in an anthology of Jewish writers. Murray and I co-authored the introduction and I contributed a bibliographic study of Jewish anthologies to the appendix, which also includes a glossary and information about the authors. A copy of the table of contents is appended below.

Our book is available for sale directly from CreateSpace (https://www.createspace.com/4348018 - $18 list price; discount code JR63SAPT brings the price down by $3). It is also available from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/The-Jewish-Street-Writing-Anthology/dp/1492724440/); the price varies.
