Hi everyone, I am new to posting to Hasafran and not sure how this works. I
am a MLIS graduate student and Library Coordinator for the Tucson
Association of Jewish Libraries. We are in the midst of creating a branched
library system in the city and currently I am cataloging thousands of
books. We are using ResourceMate and when imputing items, I have it
searching through Library of Congress, Ohiolink Central Catalog, ACCESS
Pennsylvania Database, Toronto Public library, and Amazon.
Every so often I come across items that I cannot find anywhere in the
databases and thus do not enter them into our own system and I set them
aside.
Is this not the right thing to do? Is there a way I should be handling
items that I cannot find on major databases? I have not learned how to
create my own but is this what I should be doing? What is it you all do in
this situation if you have met it?

Thank you for the response!

Mirra Neiman

Library Coordinator
