Hi All,

I'm writing from Women Make Movies, the leading nonprofit distributor of
films by and about women. I thought the members of the Association of
Jewish Libraries would be interested in our newest release, the 2013
Academy Award(r) nominee KINGS POINT, a captivating educational resource
that The Huffington Post calls, " a magnificent film.... the wake-up
call we all need to understand the mindsets of our parents and
grandparents as they contemplate the final stages of their lives." KINGS
POINT is a fantastic addition to classrooms, organizations and libraries
focused on women's health, aging, Jewish studies, and sociology.

To celebrate this release, WMM is offering a special promotion of 50%
off any film from our Jewish Identity Collection when you buy KINGS
POINT at list price.*

I'm including some additional info on KINGS POINT and the related
special offer. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, and
thanks as always for supporting independent women filmmakers!

KINGS POINT

During the 1970s and 80s, thousands of New York's primarily Jewish
senior citizens migrated to Kings Point, a retirement community in
Florida. Lured by blue skies, sunshine and the promise of richer social
lives, they bought paradise for a mere $1,500 down payment. 2013 Academy
Award(r) nominee for Best Documentary (Short Subject), Kings Point
tracks the stories of five residents of this typical retirement complex
who arrived decades ago with their health intact and spouses by their
sides. Now that they and their community, comprised primarily of widowed
women, face advanced age and mortality, paradise demands a higher price.
Through candid interviews the film exposes the dynamic interplay of
their desire for independence, need for community, and ambivalence
toward growing old. Filmmaker and Emmy(r) nominee Sari Gilman deftly
balances seriousness with humor, providing a bittersweet look at love,
loss and self-preservation as well as a deeply empathetic portrait of
aging in America and the American Dream's last act.

In the forefront of early twentieth-century American literature about
immigrant women's lives, Anzia Yezierska's work includes short fiction,
novels, and essays, and her output spans 50 years. SWEATSHOP CINDERELLA,
by award-winning filmmaker/historian Suzanne Wasserman, vividly depicts

TREYF

 <http://www.wmm.com/filmcatalog/pages/c434.shtml>

TREYF -"unkosher" in Yiddish- is an unorthodox documentary by and about
two Jewish lesbians who met and fell in love at a Passover "seder". With
