I also love LibraryThing, but it doesn't do barcodes or book labels.
You could, however, probably use LibraryThing fields to track circulation:
If you list all your books, you can select which fields you want for columns by 
using the Style Settings option.
So, for example, you could show in a Comments or Private Comments entry 
whenever someone borrows a book and even list due dates in a date field, which 
you can sort by.


For only 500 books, maybe you can use Avery labels and Word for labels?
