To Eileen Polk, Dear Eileen,
In The Bride Who Argued with God; Tales from the Treasury of Jewish Folklore, compiled and edited by Hava Ben-Zvi (Vallentine Mitchell, 2011) you will find another version of "Feathers": Cruel words and feathers: A Yom Kippur tale. This book may be of interest to your college teacher, since the source notes list parallel tales in many cultures.
