The forthcoming New Year is 5776 on the Hebrew calendar.

5776 can be factored into 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 19 x 19. That is 76 x 76. It is
also 304 x 19. So 5776 = 304 19-year sun-moon cycles of the Hebrew calendar.

The Hebrew lunar year is about 11 days shorter than the solar cycle and
uses the 19-year Metonic cycle <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metonic_cycle>
to bring it into line with the solar cycle, with the addition of an
intercalary <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intercalation_(timekeeping)> month
(Adar I) every two or three years, for a total of seven times per 19 years.

The Metonic cycle is described at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metonic_cycle

Adar I is added in the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th and 19th years of
the cycle. There is a cute piano keyboard illustration of which 7 years of
the 19 year cycle contain a leap month at
http://www.jewfaq.org/calendar.htm

5776 begins at sunset on 13 September 2015 and ends at sunset on 2 October
2016. So this coming year is a Hebrew leap year with an extra month, Adar
I.
