Fred, As a perspective from the other side, in recent years, our Archives has received donations from a number of synagogues that are still very much in existence, versus from defunct or shrinking congregations, which had previously been more typical. While there are issues to be worked out regarding privacy and intellectual property, the storage, security and broader access to their materials have proved to be compelling factors. So you may want to explore some local archival repositories. This brochure from the Society of American Archivists on donating organizational records best summarizes and explains the issues to consider and describes the process: http://www2.archivists.org/publications/brochures/donating-orgrecs Good luck, Deena Schwimmer ________________ Deena M.
