Dear Safranim

I am aware of the famous line spoken by Thomas-a-Beckett from
<http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/18540.T_S_Eliot> T.S. Eliot,
<http://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/734319> Murder in the Cathedral -

"The last act is the greatest treason. To do the right deed for the wrong
reason."

Eliot is being specific, but I have in my mind another statement that has a
more general application:

"It is an equal treason to do the right thing for the wrong reason"

Does anyone know the source of this quote?

Your help will be appreciated

Regards

Yoel Sheridan
