UPPER SCHOOL SENIOR LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALIST Job Code: LM100 Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School Rockville, MD
The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School is seeking candidates to fill the position of Upper School Senior Library Media Specialist (grades 6-12) for the 2016-2017 academic year. The Senior Library Media Specialist will provide leadership and expertise to align the Upper School Library Media program with the mission and goals of the school, making it a key part of learning and instruction. The ideal candidate will excel in teaching the effective and ethical use of ideas and information at both the middle and high school level. S/he will be adept at emerging instructional, information, and research technologies, and will collaborate with teachers to foster skilled and enthusiastic research experiences across subjects. Candidates should possess a master's degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association and be familiar with Judaica libraries and Judaic Studies research materials. Experience in a school media center environment, completion of a teacher preparation program and/or educational degree, and state certification in school library media are preferred but not required.
