The El’Am Talmud was originally published in booklets and in some cases the
booklets were bound. It is a nice translation and commentary for the chapters
that were published but the project did not continue. It could be a useful set
for beginning students of Talmud. Perhaps the new Koren English Talmud edition
can be seen as superseding El’Am but I would still recommend El’Am for
beginning Talmud students.

Torah Shelemah is in constant use here at our rabbinical school. While perhaps
the Bar-Ilan Database can be said to supersede it is still a basic reference
tool here at Hebrew College. Our English edition only goes through the middle
of the book of Exodus and is an abridgement of the Hebrew edition. We have 43
volumes of the original Hebrew edition, which runs through parshat Pinhas in
Bamidbar (Numbers).

I would highly recommend keeping all 3 sets.
