Hi Rachel,
We have had a few cookbook authors speak and do demos at our
synagogue (primarily through Sisterhood). Most recently we had Paula
Shoyer, author of The Healthy Jewish Kitchen. She was very
entertaining. We've also had Leah Koenig, author of Modern Jewish
Cooking. Both times, we had congregants make a few of the recipes to
serve at the event, in addition to what the authors cooked during the
demo. Both events were very well attended.
