I may be unorthodox but I classify picture books about holidays and Israel in with the non-fiction although the MARC record says fiction. Patrons-especially teachers or kids- browsing are more likely to find items if they are all together because they don't use the OPAC
Books that are just stories I classify as JE (to mimmic our public library) and file by author. Of course some items are questionable . I use my judgement.
