I'm so glad that so many people have appreciated Katherine Locke's essay! Regarding a follow-up comment (I think it was from Amelia?) about literature in translation--I trust that many list members have already seen this recent Haaretz piece? (According to the article, the picture isn't necessarily so rosy for authors of books for grown-ups, either!)
