While I've personally sent my wishes to Jim, I want to thank him for a few more things. I first met Jim when I started as a grad student in Jewish history at Brandeis 42 years ago. He was always helpful in my years of grad school with his amazing bibliographic knowledge. I worked for 2 years in his office as a grad student quick cataloging Hebrew books and he was a great teacher and supervisor. Jim, along with Ann Abrams, has been the main force behind the annual meetings of the New England Jewish Librarians. I worked on two Boston AJL conferences with Jim and his attentions to details is amazing. He has always been willing to provide advice when I've sought his advice on issues at the Hebrew College Library. He most recently agreed to be a consultant as Hebrew College plans for a library of the future when we move to a new building in a few years. I will try not to cut too much into his retirement reading time
