There are two openings on the Manuscript Award Committee for the 2021 award year.
Members - also called judges- may serve a term of 5 years. Members read, evaluate and choose a manuscript from an unpublished author of middle grade (ages 8-13) literary fiction. Members should belong to AJL, have experience with children’s literature, be comfortable writing detailed evaluations and be able to meet deadlines. Specific information about the award and its criteria are found on the AJL website. Every attempt will be made to achieve a balanced committee.
