resolution pushed by SRRT. We were able to stop

I thought it would be different this year with a new president who
told us, when running as a candidate, how proud she was of her Jewish
heritage. I guess I was naive and too trusting. Thanks for reminding
me of the reality of ALA. Hopefully Emily Drabinski and her staff will
not write anything.

Hi Shoshanah,
Be careful what you wish for. Do a search on the ALA website for
resolutions about Gaza and then similarly about Israel. I don't know
anything about the internal bureaucracy and organization of the ALA,
but it seems that the Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT) is
responsible for a lot of these types of resolutions, in which case you
should really be careful what you wish for. (In general, just remember
that the ALA issued an award to the Goldstone Report.)

It would be good to hear from ALA an association of 50,000 vs AJL an
association of 500 mostly Jewish and many Israelis.
